Collaroy Plateau House
Deuchrass Architects were engaged to design a residence set above Collaroy Plateau, carefully positioned to capture sweeping ocean views. Occupying a generous double-lot site, the home opens outward to an expansive outlook, with thoughtfully composed living spaces that maximise light, horizon lines, and connection to the coastal landscape. The planning balances openness with privacy, allowing the home to feel both exposed to the view and comfortably sheltered.
The architectural language is grounded and tactile, drawing on an earthy material palette that anchors the building to its site. A layered and screened façade softens the scale while providing depth, texture, and environmental control. This interplay of solidity and permeability creates a home that feels natural and enduring—carefully integrated into its surroundings while offering a refined, contemporary coastal presence.
